Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said that the government led by Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina is working constantly to uproot the poison tree of BNP and build a toxic-free state structure. We are determined to build a non-communal, progressive, prosperous, safe and smart Bangladesh for the next generation.

Obaidul Quader said that BNP, which was born at the hands of military dictator Ziaur Rahman who seized the state power through the barrel of gun, had poisoned the state-structure by staying in power for a long time. The state and society are still bearing the brunt. BNP, in the name of politics, established and nurtured the anti-liberation forces and the ideology against the spirit of the Liberation War everywhere. He also said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time, and Awami League are the pioneers of the long freedom struggle of this township. After Bangabandhu declared Independence in the early hours of March 26, 1971, independent-sovereign Bangladesh was achieved through a long bloody 9-month Liberation War.
The Bridges Minister said that Awami League is not only the leading organization in the freedom struggle and Liberation War but also the leading organization in the struggle to establish the democratic rights of the people of this country. The government which, under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, achieved legal legitimacy and recognition and delivered the Bengali nation to the port of Independence, was a government made up of representatives of the Awami League, which won the elections in 1970. Awami League General Secretary said under the undisputed leadership of the Father of the Nation, people of all religions of Bengal, Hindu-Muslim-Buddhist-Christian fought and won the freedom of this country.
