Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went abroad to raise the country’s stature. She went abroad to save the lives of those who were suffering due to the increase in commodity prices.

He said these at a rally organized by the Jatiya Sramik League near the Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Monday (May 1) on the occasion of the Great May Day.

Awami League General Secretary said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went on a foreign tour not for herself but for the peace of the people of the country. Her visit has taken Bangladesh to a unique height. This visit has strengthened Bangladesh, this nation in self-reliance.

Obaidul Quader said that today’s Labour Day rally proves that we are all soldiers of Bangabandhu’s ideology. Awami League is united. This unity among themselves should be maintained until the next election.

To BNP, Obaidul Quader said that BNP has been defeated in the movement. Now they are wayward travelers. If they come to the next parliamentary elections, then they will understand how much their value is.

The general secretary of the party said to the activists that they should treat the general people well. “Apologize to those who misbehave with others. Don’t misbehave. If you do, people will punish you by voting,” he added.

Obaidul Quader also said that Awami League will not nominate any corruptor, black money owner or terrorist in the next national parliament election.
