Pakistan’s former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has finally appeared in the country’s Islamabad High Court (IHC) after overcoming many hurdles. He has been produced in the court for hearing in the arrested case.

Imran Khan came to appear a day after the arrest was declared “illegal and unlawful” from the court premises. Earlier, the arrest of Imran Khan caused a lot of heat in the streets of Pakistan.

Imran Khan arrived at the IHC amid tight security after 11:30 am local time on Friday. Television footage showed police and special forces Rangers deployed outside the court premises. A barbed wire fence has been placed in front of the gate.

A large number of lawyers were also seen shouting slogans in solidarity with the PTI chief.

Meanwhile, PTI was sure that Imran Khan will get bail from the Islamabad High Court in the Al-Qadir Trust case. Referring to the issue, the supporters are being told that the former prime minister will address them.

PTI’s official Twitter handle said on Friday morning that thousands of peaceful Pakistanis from different parts of the country will gather at Srinagar Highway G-13 Islamabad to express solidarity with Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan. Imran Khan will address the supporters there.

Noted that the former prime minister was arrested from the court premises on May 9 for bail in the Al-Qadir trust case. He appeared in the hearing of the case today. If the bail continues in this case, there will be no more obstacles to Imran Khan’s release.

Imran Khan got a big legal victory on Thursday. The Supreme Court declared his arrest on the premises of the IHC on May 9 as “unlawful” and directed the authorities to release the PTI chief immediately. He was also ordered to appear in court on Friday. Source: Dawn
